With 25 years of experience in creative projects with young people, Theatre in Italy is pleased to announce a new series of theatre and improvisation workshops entirely in English and facilitated by experienced native-speakers.
Theatre Workshop
The project consists of five days of facilitated theatre training with a performace/presentation by the students on the final day for their peers, teachers and family.
Improvisation Workshop
The project consists of five days of facilitated improvisation training with an improvised show by the students on the final day for their peers, teachers and family.

Cathal has 25 years of performance and facilitation experience at an international level with a background in improvisation, theatre & circus.
As a touring circus artist he has performed to thousands of people in 5 languages in numeruos countries from Denmark to Dubai, combining theatre, clown and slackrope in high-energy shows full of audience participation.
He now specialises in using theatre and clowning techniques in a didactic context, specifically in the teaching of English as a second language. In December 2024 he published his first book, Class Clown, a teachers’ manual for the use of his techniques in the classroom.
He has collaborated on many projects as writer and/or director and performs regularly with educational shows such as Plastic Planet and his one-man adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. His most recent theatre collaboration, as facilitator and director, is with the Tuscan company Le Donne del Teatro on their premier performance Sarà Femmina.
Based in Ireland, Micheál has over 20 years of experience as a professional comedy improviser and Stand up Comedian.
His work has brought him to numerous countries including England, Scotland Germany, France and the USA.
He now uses all his experience in performance comedy along with qualifications he has received in Family Group Facilitation ( Substance Abuse) to create workshops and courses for both the public and schools throughout Ireland that primarily focus on increasing confidence and resilience
